Ray Sherwood is our pastor and has been here since July 1, 2018. Pastor Ray has been in ministry since June, 1993 and has been a pastor in many parts of the country with his latest parishes in NW Minnesota.
Pastor Ray has been married to his wife, Brenda, for 32 years. They have four children: Eric, Stephanie, Jeremy and Christopher and four grandchildren: Ethan, Noah, Hudson and Mya.
Pastor Ray’s call to ministry is found in Ephesians 3:7-8, “I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Although I am less than the least of all God’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.” (NIV)
Pastor Ray’s favorite verse is found in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (NIV)
Pastor Ray collects lighthouses and has many in his office. He likes to play board games with his family, hiking, camping, watching movies and looking at the stars at night!
Brenda is our Administrative Assistant. She prepares the worship folders and works on the newsletter and a whole lot of other things that goes on behind the scenes besides being a wife, mother and grandmother!
Brenda’s favorite verse is found in Isaiah 61:1-3, “The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.” (NIV)
Michael & Skylar are our new youth leaders. We want to welcome them into our fellowship as they minister to our youth!
